8. How to properly infuse saffron?
The ice cube technique is a gentle and effective method to release all the aromas and benefits of saffron:
- Grind the saffron : Take a few saffron threads (3 to 5 are enough for a cup) and reduce them to a fine powder using a mortar and pestle, or by crushing them with the back of a spoon. This step releases all the aromas and benefits of the saffron.
- Add an ice cube : Place the resulting powder in a small container, then add an ice cube on top.
- Let it melt : Let the ice cube melt naturally at room temperature. The slow melting process allows the saffron to release its active compounds without alteration.
Once the infusion is ready, you can use it in your dishes, drinks or desserts to benefit from all the properties of saffron. 🌸
